Area firms win advertising honors

Several area firms took honors at the recent American Advertising Federation of Central Illinois Addy Awards event in Springfield.

Surface 51, Champaign, took the best of show award for its entry, “OJC – Lunchbox Kit.”

That entry also received a gold award in the direct, business-to-business or consumer category.

Other Surface 51 projects receiving honors included:

– Rejuvenis, gold award in the color brochure category.

– Totally Christmas Web site, gold award in the consumer HTML Web site category.

– OJC Team Tech Web site, gold award in the micro- or mini-sites category.

– Jimmy John’s CD, gold award in the interactive business-to-business category.

– 40 North “Art Lives Here” brochure, gold award in the arts brochure category.

– 40 North “Art Lives Here” viral animation, gold award in the arts/nontraditional category.

– Tetravitae Bioscience, silver award in the business-to-business HTML Web site category.

– Cafe Joy Registration, silver award in the color brochure cateogry.

– Good to Go campaign, silver award in the public service, mixed media campaign category.

– Blankity-Blanks, silver award in the self-promotion, mixed media category.

University of Illinois students received six student silver awards, with Jill N. Tiongco receiving two and Sara Christine Volpe, Ryan J. Cwiklinksi, Peter Meersman and Laura Knight each receiving one.

The winning entries included: Virgin Atlantic, Q-Tips and 1154 Lill, all in the magazine campaign category; Listerine Strips in the nontraditional advertising category; Voss Water in the out-of-home category; and Kiss The Sky Music Store in the point-of-purchase category.

Roundtable won silver awards for Spoon River College direct mail in the direct campaign, business-to-business or consumer category, and I Hotel Logo in the logo category.

Bonadies Creative Inc. took silver awards for Spurlock Magazine in the arts/magazine category and for Rare Book Studies in the arts/direct category.
